Green Card Stories at ImmigrationWorks USA Capitol Hill Briefing
Monday, Apr 16, 2012 – 12:30 PM-1:30 PM
U.S. Congress, Washington, DC
Green Card Stories will be used as a tool to make the case to fix the legal immigration system at the ImmigrationWorks USA Capitol Hill briefing for congressional staffers. The goals of the briefing are: to encourage new thinking about an incremental approach to fix the legal immigration system; to support the lawmakers who are driving it; to educate congressional offices that haven’t engaged; and to inject some new policy ideas into the debate.
Green Card Stories‘s poignant narratives and arresting photographs will help make the issue vivid for staffers. The book is at once a call to action and proof positive of the benefits we as a nation will reap if and when we fix the legal immigration system so we continue to generate inspiring green card stories. The event will use the emotional power of the book – particularly the photographs – to draw staffers into a conversation about policy.
This event is open only to Senate and House staffers.
