Immigration Advocacy Organizations
If you are interested in working toward reforming our immigration laws or helping immigrants contribute to the U.S. society, here’s what you can do:
- Help start a national conversation about immigration reform by hosting a roundtable in your community. Learn more at the White House Immigration Action Roundtables.
- Learn more about the DREAM Act, which would allow undocumented youth to legalize their status if they go to college or serve in the military for two years. Get more information at the DREAM Act Portal.
- Help immigrants become involved in your community. Look up Immigrants or Refugees in your phone book or on the internet to see what local groups you can join. A list of immigration-related organizations in each state is at the National Immigration Forum. Or visit the Migration Policy Institute for more information about immigrant integration generally and what others are doing around the United States.
- Help people apply to become naturalized U.S. citizens. Visit the Citizenship Resource Center for more information.
